Sunday 26th October

Sunday Shorter Ride

The first of our new Sunday Shorter Rides is planned for this Sunday 26th October.

This is a much more informal ride and a bit shorter than the regular Saturday ride and will not have a cafe stop. Neither will it have an explicitly mapped Strava route although it will have a rough plan so you know what to expect.

For this week the plan is to meet at our normal start / meet point at Fairways for a 9am start. The clocks change this weekend so you do actually get an extra hour in bed. The rough route plan is to cross the Kessock Bridge, head to Redcastle up hill towards Kilcoy after crossing the Tore road and join the cycle path. Then head towards Dingwall but before then loop back towards Muir of Ord via Conon and then retrace Redcastle and Kessock Bridge etc. Total distance will be about 50km and time wise around 2 hours at our normal group 2 pace although the informal nature does allow changes on the day. Also if people want to go faster or slower then we’ll try and accommodate that depending on the numbers that turn up. It will be as always a no drop ride.

Even although the ride is a bit more informal please indicate if you are planning on coming along and finally as always with all ICC rides.

Riders should ensure their bikes are mechanically sound before attending a club ride and that the following minimum spares / tools are carried.

2x inner tubes
2x Co2 canisters (& dispenser) or appropriate hand pump
adhesive patches
Multi tool
Quick link (appropriate for your chain speed)
Tyre levers
Rear Light

Please also note that we ask people to carry ICE (In Case of Emergency) details with them on our rides. Please carry on ICE card or similar in your seatbag, or back pocket if you ride without one, detailing the name and phone number we should contact if you are involved in an accident.

Hope to see you on Sunday

Ray
