Saturday 22nd November (Camerons)
Quote from Jonathan Lindsay on 19 November 2025, 11:39The Saturday ride is to Camerons.
The route is 42m/67km with about 2000ft/600m of climbing. This is a slightly shorter route than normal, and allows us reasonably to delay the start if that will help with road conditions.
Weather for the weekend is currently forecast to be more seasonable with low but positive temperatures and little wind. However, this may change – if there is the risk of black ice then a decision will be made first thing on Saturday morning as to whether the ride should go ahead as planned, be pushed back till 9.30 or 10.00, or be cancelled.
The route can be downloaded from Strava:
https://www.strava.com/routes/3426169601205108684
For rider safety we operate a no-drop policy, and we may split into groups with the following rough guidelines for ride speed:
Group 1 – 16-18mph / 26kph-29kph
Group 2 – 14-16mph / 22kph-26kph
Group 3 – 13-15mph / 21kph-24kph
These speeds are guidelines, subject to ride conditions and rider numbers. You may ride in a group either quicker than you normally would to challenge yourself, dropping down a group at the cafe stop; or ride in a group slower than normal for more of a recovery ride. Let your group leader know if you plan to change route or group during the ride.
Please take the usual equipment you would take on a ride of this length appropriate to your bike set up and appropriate clothing for the weather. We ask you to have emergency contact and relevant medical details available either as an ICE card or on your phone’s emergency details.
We will meet at the usual starting point, in the car park for Fairways Business Park, at 8.50 for a 9.00 start on Saturday morning.
Please post below if you plan to join.
Thanks,
Jonathan
