Monster Munch 200k & Monster Mash 100k – Saturday 21st September
Quote from GaryMacGowan on 8 September 2024, 10:22Hi All,
The Monster Mash and the Monster Munch, the final two events in our ICC Highland Audax series will take place on Saturday 21st September. These new rides will both start at Balloch Village Hall and are designed to introduce you to Audax on roads that many of you will know well. The routes are on Ride with GPS as this is the format used for Audax.
The Monster Munch 200k – Monster Munch 21 Sep 2024 · Ride with GPS
The Monster Mash 100k – Monster Mash 21 Sep 2024 · Ride with GPS
There may be an ad-hoc Club Saturday ride also on the 21st September, but you are all invited to enter either the Monster Munch 200k or the Monster Mash 100k. You can ride as fast or as steady as you like – the maximum average speed is 30kph and minimum average speed is 15kph – both include stops.
Why not ask who else is interested and ride together as an ICC group.
You will need to enter through the Audax UK website (Monster Munch Event Details| Audax UK – The Long Distance Cyclists’ Association) for the 200k and (Monster Mash Event Details| Audax UK – The Long Distance Cyclists’ Association) for the 100k.
Entry fees are £8 if you are a member of Audax UK or just £11 if you are not a member – the extra £3 is to cover your event insurance.
Both distances include refreshments at the start and finish and at Errogie Church (Village Hall) and the total raised will contribute to our Club donation to local charities from Highland Audax, for 2024 – currently standing at around £1400 (it was £800 in 2023).
It’s easy to enter and Audax is a very different and far more sociable cycling event world to that of Sportives…and it’s just £11!
We will need to close the entries at 7pm on Wednesday 18th September, to ensure we have brevet cards ready for all entrants – your brevet card is both your memento of the event and the card you need to complete, as you ride the audax.
We hope that you can find the time to enter and help raise a little more towards some local charities on the way.
Happy cycling
Gary
